In a world increasingly focused on sustainability, every small change we make can have a significant impact on the environment. As part of their commitment to eco-friendly practices, KURZ is proud to introduce an important evolution in favour of the environment: the reduction of PET on transfer products.
Traditionally, transfer products have used PET films with a thickness of 12 microns(μm) for hot stamping applications. However, through technological advancements and innovative processes, we have successfully reduced the thickness to 10μm for hot stamping and an astonishing 6μm for cold transfer.
This reduction in PET thickness offers a multitude of benefits, not only for the environment but also for our customers and end-users.

Benefits of the reduction in PET thickness
- More sustainable: By reducing the amount of PET used in transfer products, KURZ contributes to a more sustainable future. PET is a type of plastic that is widely used but takes a significant amount of time to decompose. By using less PET, we are reducing the amount of plastic waste generated, helping to protect our planet for future generations.
- Less waste: In addition to being more sustainable, the reduction in PET thickness also leads to less waste during the manufacturing process. With thinner PET films, less material is needed for production, resulting in reduced waste and lower manufacturing costs. This reduction in waste aligns with KURZ’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible manufacturing practices.
- More performant: Despite the reduction in thickness, these transfer products maintain the same level of performance and quality that customers have come to expect from KURZ. The thinner PET films offer excellent adhesion, durability, and resistance to wear and tear, ensuring that these transfer products deliver outstanding results in a wide range of applications.
- Lower CO2 Footprint: One of the most significant advantages of reducing PET thickness is the resulting decrease in carbon emissions. Thinner PET films require less energy and resources to produce, leading to a lower carbon footprint throughout the manufacturing process. By reducing our environmental impact, we are taking proactive steps to combat climate change and promote sustainability.

The reduction of PET thickness on transfer products represents a significant advancement in sustainability and environmental responsibility. KURZ is committed to continually innovating and improving their products to minimise their environmental footprint while delivering exceptional quality and performance to customers. By thinking thinner, they are making a positive impact on the environment and paving the way for a more sustainable future.
